Episode 5
Studio Ennead is the protagonist of the fifth appointment of The Architects Series, the exhibition format in collaboration with The Plan magazine that leads viewers to discover the most important architectural firms on the international scene. At SpazioFMG per l’Architettura, the Milanese showroom gallery of the Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti brands, the evening of 25 October was dedicated to the presentation of the collective of architects and designers working in New York and Shanghai.

During the week dedicated to design, SpazioFMG celebrated avant-garde architecture and experimentation through the work of Bjarke Ingels Group, founded in Copenhagen in 2005. The studio now has more than 500 collaborators from all over the world and offices in Copenhagen, London and New York.

The appointments with The Architects Series continue. The ninth appointment of the format is dedicated to the New York studio SHoP Architects.
Founded in 1996, SHoP Architects is based in Lower Manhattan, New York City (NY) and is made up of 4 partners – Christopher Sharples, Corie Sharples, Gregg Pasquarelli and William Sharples – and around 180 collaborators. It stands out for its ability to combine and enhance different skills in the field of design in order to improve the quality of public life, thus challenging the classic construction process and demonstrating that beauty and technological competence are not mutually exclusive.

The tenth episode of The Architects Series curated by THE PLAN magazine for SpazioFMG per l’Architettura saw the participation of the German studio Behnisch Architekten which, through this unpublished video, offered the public an excursus on sustainable architecture and its constant dialogic relationship with the surrounding environment, both landscape and human.

Founded in Aarhus (Denmark) in 1986 by Kim Herforth Nielsen, 3XN Architects quickly managed to take on international significance. Based in Copenhagen and offices in Stockholm, Sydney, New York and London, the studio employs a team of 140 architects from 20 countries. Professionals with different cultural and working backgrounds are the beating heart of the structure that focuses on people, their creativity and their constant commitment to finding innovative, sustainable and environmentally friendly design solutions.

Founded in 1986 by Josep Juanpere and Antonio Puig, who were later joined by other partners, GCA Architects has a staff of over 90 professionals specialized in architecture and interior design. Characterized by a simple and minimal design style, the studio has significant works in the hospitality and retail sectors, as well as corporate headquarters, residential buildings and starred restaurants.

Founded in 1992, the German firm Werner Sobek is renowned worldwide for its expertise in the fields of engineering, design and sustainability. Today, it has more than 350 employees, with offices in Germany (Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg) and in major cities such as Moscow, Istanbul, New York, Buenos Aires and Dubai.
The firm’s philosophy is based on the idea that the architect must not use traditional materials and imitate previous models, but must come up with solutions that anticipate people’s living and work needs. Modern and future architecture must be radically different from the architecture of the past.

Founded in 1977 by Steven Holl, the practice is recognized internationally for the quality and excellence of its architectural achievements and innovative urban design. Leading a staff of 40 employees, Steven Holl is supported by Partners Chris McVoy, Noah Yaffe and Roberto Bannura in managing the New York and Beijing offices. With projects worldwide, the Studio’s body of work includes master planning and the design of residential and office buildings, detached housing and structures in the world of the arts, culture and education, a sector where it has extensive experience.

A documentary on: Park Associati” will open the 2021 season and is the 16th episode in the format created by THE PLAN magazine for Iris Ceramica Group. This year the show will take place online with guests live from flagship stores in Milan, London and Berlin, and also live streaming to give a wider audience the opportunity to watch the event and interact with speakers. Enjoy this approximately 35 minute video-documentary during which Park Associati will share their vision of the world of architecture, defined by listening, research, creativity and experimentation.

The video-documentary describes in 30 minutes the extraordinary career of Michele De Lucchi and his firm AMDL CIRCLE. Internationally renowned designer, architect and artist, Michele de Lucchi has been one of the big names of avant-garde architecture and design currents since the 1970s. Today he heads AMDL CIRCLE, the multidisciplinary design firm renowned for the humanistic approach to architecture, design and graphics.

Nanne de Ru is the founder of Powerhouse Company, the international firm which combines architecture, interior design and product design to create architectural solutions that can improve people’s quality of life. During the lecture ‘Level up Architecture’ that was hosted on September 16th at the Iris Ceramica Group Flagship Store in Berlin, Nanne de Ru talked about the history of the firm, tackled the issue of the central role of the customer and talked about the changes and the opportunities for designing the architecture of tomorrow.
